If they will be staying in Cyprus for less than 90 days and have a valid passport and return ticket, US citizens do not require a Cyprus visa. To enter the country, visitors must have a passport that is valid for at least three months. Certain travelers may also be required to show proof of sufficient funds for their trip and, if applicable, documentation for their next destination.

A temporary residence visa is required for visitors staying in Cyprus for more than 90 days. It is important to note that the Cypriot government issues visas only for areas directly under government control. This does not include areas administered by Turkish Cypriots. Temporary residence visas issued by the Turkish Cypriot administration will not be accepted by the government.

To apply for a temporary residence visa, travelers must submit a completed visa application form. Applicants who mail their application must have it verified by a Notary Public. Along with the form, travelers must submit two passport-sized photographs, a letter explaining why they are visiting the country, a travel itinerary, a letter of invitation if visiting friends or traveling on business, and proof of sufficient funds. At least three weeks before the departure date, visa applications must be submitted.

If you choose to visit a regional Passport agency, make sure you are aware of the requirements and schedule an appointment with the national Passport scheduling service by calling 1-877-487-2778. You can do so at any time of day or night. Security is strictly enforced in most Wyoming passport offices. Metal detection devices are used by federal agencies.

If you live in Gillette, Wyoming, for example, you can apply for a passport at the Campbell County District Court or the US Post Office – Gillette. Before visiting, you should call to see if an appointment is required. Check a neighboring town or city if you can’t find an acceptance facility where you live.

When applying for a passport in Wyoming, you have two options: regular passport services, which take 4 to 6 weeks, or expedited passport services, which can take 2 or 3 weeks.
