Are you planning a trip to Greenland shortly? For up to 90 days, a Greenlandic visa will not be required. You will not need a visa to visit Greenland if you are a citizen of the United States. Although a visa is not needed to visit Greenland, the following must be ensured.

Check the validity of the passport – All visitors to Greenland will need a passport that is valid for at least 90 days after they leave the country. When leaving a country, the ideal amount of validity time left on your passport should be around 6 months.

Blank Visa Pages – Greenland and many other countries, on arrival and departure, require two or more blank visa pages. This allows all necessary stamps to be stamped during the journey on your passport.

Transition visa – A transit visa is sometimes necessary on a connecting flight when traveling to a country. When connecting flights, countries where your flight makes a stopover may require a transit visa.

Greenland will allow students with student visas to enter the country 30 days before the start of their studies. Furthermore, students with student visas will be permitted to stay in Greenland for 14 days after completing their studies. Some Schengen countries will allow students to travel there with expired student visas; however, you should check with each Schengen country’s immigration before traveling to avoid any problems.
