Have you considered taking a trip to Liechtenstein? To enter Liechtenstein, you do not need a visa. Even though you will not require a visa, you must ensure that your current United States passport is valid and up to date.

Under the rules and requirements of the Schengen Agreement, a United States passport valid for at least three months after departure from Liechtenstein will suffice. If you do not follow this guideline, your trip may be cut short or you may be denied entry into Liechtenstein.

After you intended to depart a country, your passport should have six months of validity left. Although Liechtenstein only requires 3-month validity, other countries with whom Liechtenstein shares a border may require 6 months validity. Before traveling to any of Liechtenstein’s bordering countries, double-check these requirements.

Additionally, it is important to keep blank visa pages in your passport book when traveling abroad. The number of visa pages that should be left blank in your passport book is recommended to be (2). The more blank visa pages you have, the better off you’ll be when traveling internationally.

Finally, if you are flying to Liechtenstein and will be stopping in another country to connect to another flight, you may require a transit visa. We recommend that you communicate with your travel agent or the airline company with whom you booked your flight about the details of your flight.

NOTE: If you stay longer than permitted, you may be subject to a fine or, in some cases, a six-month ban from the entire Schengen Area.
