Are you planning to travel to Paraguay on your own, or are you traveling with a member of your family? To travel to Paraguay for tourism, official, or business purposes, you will need to obtain a Paraguay visa. Also, your current passport must be valid and up to date. When traveling to Paraguay, you should have at least two (2) blank visa pages in your passport book to accommodate visa stamps. To avoid any problems, make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months after you leave Paraguay. Keep in mind that if you have a layover in another country en route to Paraguay, you may need a transit visa. Inquire with your airline about the specific details of your flight.

You will have to contact the Paraguay embassy for more information on visas. As a US citizen, you will be able to obtain a business and tourist visa upon arrival. When flying into Paraguay, this service will only be available at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport in Asunción.

A Paraguay Visa Application Form, an original, signed United States Passport, (2) acceptable passport photographs, and a State Department Letter are required for an official visa to Paraguay. The applicant’s name, passport number, the reason for travel, and travel dates should all be included in the State Department letter.
